We’ve just had a week’s holiday. A little time to do nothing, enjoy good food, catch up on the laundry and wave the kids goodbye. And, of course, to think about the harvest ahead.
What are we going to make? When will we start?
A few growers around us have already begun harvesting. Acidity is low and sugar levels are already high. One thing is certain: we need to get moving. And still, there is no rain.
Our harvest team is ready.
Tomorrow, Monday 10 August, we start preparing the cellar. All the barrels out, put the press back together, and then: scrub, clean and scrub some more.
On Tuesday, we’ll pick the grapes for our pied de cuve and get it started. And on Friday, 14 August, we’re planning our first pick of Sauvignon Blanc.
